Amagerforbrænding produces electricity and district heating by incinerating waste from five capital municipalities. In 2009, we received more than 417.000 ton of waste. This is ten percent of all waste incinated in Denmark. The waste consists of:
The energy from the incineration proces supplies 140.000 households with electricity or district heating. The utilisation of the energy in the waste is as high af 86 % at Amagerforbrænding.
